Google Earth Voyager

Google Earth Voyager is a new feature in Google Earth that lets users explore the planet’s surface in 3D. The software stitches together billions of images from satellite and aerial photography, resulting in a crisp, high-resolution view.

The program’s imagery is based on data from NASA, National Geographic, and other organizations. It’s also a good way to learn about the history and culture of places around the world.

There are several different versions of Google Earth, ranging from easy-to-use browser-based ones to full-blown desktop apps. The latter allows you to build projects that contain text, images, and videos.

Some of the most exciting features of the program include the ability to zoom in and out, fly over the world’s biggest cities, walk the streets, change time zones and more. A recent update also added support for Oculus Rift and Oculus Touch headsets, making it even more immersive.

It’s also possible to use the program as a teaching tool, with the help of guided tours from experts and nonprofits. You can find a huge library of themed tours relating to travel, nature, culture, sports, history, education and more.

You can also create your own tours for students to follow. This is an excellent way to engage students and make learning fun.

To get started, you’ll need to install the latest version of Google Earth. The software is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. The program is free and can be downloaded from the company’s website.

The application is also available as a mobile app that allows you to access a large collection of maps and satellite views. It also has a special Voyager mode that can be used to follow high-quality guided tours tied to locations all over the world and across time.

These tours are available for a wide variety of topics, and they’re all created by various collaborators. For example, you can explore a theme that takes you to Hemmingway’s favorite haunts or take a trip to a soccer match in Hamburg.

For those who want to learn more about climate change, there’s a theme called “Climate Live.” It offers imagery of the planet’s most stunning landscapes and shows how global warming will affect them. In addition, it also offers interactive stories, which are designed to make climate change more understandable for non-scientists.

Teachers can also use the app to teach science lessons. The program’s immersive nature lets students pretend they’re on a jungle safari or a deep-sea dive, and it gives them the opportunity to compare habitats and ecosystems as they work to solve a scientific problem.

The program also has a series of “Knowledge Cards,” which are like mini-tours that provide detailed information about specific areas on the globe. This includes historical details about places you can visit and links to relevant websites and articles.

Google Drive

Google Drive is the world’s most popular cloud storage service. It’s free to use, and anyone with a Google account automatically gets 15 GB of storage for their files. But Google Drive is more than just a simple storage platform; it’s also packed with useful tools for collaboration, backup, and more.

The ability to search through documents is one of the best features of Google Drive. It is powered by Google’s powerful processing engine, so you can find files quickly and easily. This feature is especially helpful if you are using a large amount of files and need to find something specific.

Another great feature of Google Drive is the ability to sync files between your computer and the cloud. This means that you can upload new files to the cloud, and they will automatically be updated on your desktop. It’s a great way to avoid losing important files in the event of a device crash or system update.

If you have a lot of files in your Google Drive, it can be difficult to keep track of what you’ve saved where. That’s why it’s a good idea to set up folders for each category. This way, you can organize your files by type and location.

For example, if you have lots of photos in your account, create a folder for them. This will make it easier to find the exact images you want and avoid wasting time searching through all of them.

You can also use Google Drive to back up your data and devices, including text messages, call logs, app data, and even device settings. This is especially useful if you have multiple Android devices and want to manage them from one place.

When it comes to security, Google Drive uses Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption before any data leaves your device and is transferred to the cloud. This is followed by 128-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption when it reaches Google. This is the same security level that’s used on all of Google’s other services.

In addition to that, Google Drive is backed by two-factor authentication and supports the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. It’s a secure storage solution that’s easy to use, so you can rest assured your data is safe.

The most common reason why people use Google Drive is to share files with others. It’s a great way to collaborate with coworkers and friends, as it allows you to give them different roles depending on what you want them to do with the document. For instance, you can give them the option to edit everything or just add comments.

You can access all of the features of Google Drive from almost any device, regardless of its operating system or performance. This includes computers, laptops, smartphones, and tablets.

Microsoft Dyslexia Training

Technology can be a lifesaver for dyslexics, and a new campaign is looking to empower neurodiverse people to “Be You” with digital tools that can help them. Launched with partners like Currys, Microsoft’s Think Differently About Dyslexia campaign features free workshops and digital tools designed to make everyday life easier for those with lower levels of functional literacy or other learning differences.

Dyslexia, a brain condition that affects one in five people worldwide, is often not diagnosed until adulthood – often when life’s major turning points occur. That can be a stressful time for many – particularly for those with the condition as they are often struggling to understand what is required of them and how to achieve success.

Thankfully, many dyslexics have grown up to become successful in their own right. Some of history’s most famous people, including Muhammad Ali, Sir Richard Branson and John Lennon are dyslexic.

However, many adults who have lived with dyslexia still struggle to openly talk about it – particularly as they may have been misunderstood or ostracised by their peers. This is why Microsoft has teamed up with the global charity Made by Dyslexia to promote the campaign, which aims to dispel common misconceptions and stigmas surrounding the condition.

Teachers can use the free Microsoft Learn training modules to learn about dyslexia awareness, teaching and supporting students with the condition in the classroom. This training, which uses the best practices of world-leading schools, is designed to democratize dyslexia teaching and help educators support the needs of children with dyslexia.

The videos, which were produced in partnership with the global charity Made by Dyslexia and the Schenck school in Atlanta and Millfield UK, share evidence-based reading strategies that help dyslexic learners develop their reading fluency and comprehension skills. These strategies include optimizing fonts, breaking long words into syllables and increasing spaces between lines and letters to reduce visual crowding.

These techniques are particularly effective for dyslexics who have difficulty focusing on text and are also highly visual. They can help improve reading speed and comprehension, as well as encourage students to read for pleasure.

This is a very important skill for students with dyslexia to learn, as it can help them succeed in their education and their careers. As an added benefit, it can also boost their confidence and self-esteem as they are able to achieve something that many non-dyslexics can’t.

A new study has found that people with dyslexia can improve their reading skills by using voice-to-text apps, which are becoming increasingly popular in the market. These apps allow users to dictate text and have it read back to them.

As a result, they can improve their reading and writing abilities significantly. They can also work with a tutor or an online personalised learning program, which can help them overcome challenges.
