Xiaomi’s first EV car has been spotted testing on roads in China, could compete with Tesla Model 3.
Xiaomi is getting into the electric vehicle segment and its first product is expected to be a Tesla Model 3 rival.
Based on new reports, a picture of a heavily camouflaged test car is going around the internet, with rumours claiming it to be Xiaomi’s first EV car.
The pictures don’t reveal much other than the fact this EV sedan has a coupe-like roofline as well as a low-slung profile.
Xiaomi is rumoured to working on two EV cars, and the one spotted here is believed to be the Modena.
Based on the latest report from CNEVPOST ( via ArenaEV), the Xiaomi electric car is codenames Modena and is expected to come in two versions.
Xiaomi could price the base version of the Modena EV around RMB 260,000-300,000, and another higher speced version with a starting price of RMB 350,000.
No launch date for the same has been shared but given that the test vehicle is already doing its rounds on the streets, Xiaomi could unveil as soon as next year.
